Email verification for new accounts

From October 1, 2026, creating an account with email and password sends a 6-digit code to the address before the account is created. It keeps fake addresses out and makes sure alerts and replies reach you.

• The code is valid for 10 minutes and can be resent every 60 seconds.
• Continue with Google works as before, without a code.
• Existing accounts and normal sign-in are unchanged.
