Cold wallet
A wallet whose private key is kept on a device never connected to the internet.
Cold storage removes the most common theft route — malware on an online device reading the key. Hardware wallets are the practical form: the key stays in a secure chip and transactions are signed on the device. Cold storage does not protect against signing a malicious transaction; that requires reading what is signed.
