Seed phrase
A list of 12 or 24 words encoding the master key from which a wallet derives every private key and address.
The phrase is the wallet: anyone with the words controls all the funds, and without them nothing is recoverable. It is entered exactly once, at setup or restore; any other request for it is theft. Back it up on durable physical media in more than one place, never digitally.
