Funding rate
The periodic payment between long and short holders of a perpetual futures contract that keeps its price near spot.
When a perpetual trades above spot, longs pay shorts; below spot, shorts pay longs. Rates are quoted per funding interval (commonly eight hours); 0.01% is the neutral default. Persistently high positive funding means longs are crowded and paying to stay in, which historically precedes sharp drops. Coinmico records funding on each venue it covers and shows per-venue and aggregate rates.
