Leverage
Position size divided by the margin backing it; the multiplier applied to both gains and losses.
At 10× leverage a 10% move against the position consumes the entire margin and the exchange liquidates it. Exchanges offer up to 100× or more; the practical question is how far the price can move before liquidation, which at 50× is about 2%.
