Margin
The collateral posted to open and maintain a leveraged position.
Unrealised profit is added to margin and unrealised loss subtracted. When margin falls to the maintenance level the position is liquidated. Isolated margin confines the risk to one position; cross margin lets the whole account balance back every position, so one bad position can consume all of it.
