Liquidation
The forced closure of a leveraged position by the exchange when its margin falls to the maintenance level.
The exchange closes the position at market and keeps the remaining margin as a fee. Because forced closes are ordinary orders that move the price, they can trigger other positions' liquidations. Coinmico derives 24-hour long and short liquidation totals from the perpetual venues it covers.
