Liquidation cascade
A chain reaction in which each forced liquidation moves the price into the next cluster of liquidation levels.
Leveraged positions cluster at similar levels, so a modest move into the first band produces forced selling that reaches the next. The cascade ends when the clusters are exhausted and the price snaps back, leaving the long wick characteristic of crypto charts. High open interest relative to spot depth makes cascades larger.
