Profit that block producers or bots extract by choosing the order of transactions in a block.
MEV includes benign arbitrage that keeps pools priced correctly and predatory strategies such as sandwich attacks that take value directly from users' swaps. Private transaction routes and tight slippage tolerances limit exposure.
