Sandwich attack
An MEV strategy that places a buy before a victim's swap and a sell after it, capturing the slack in the victim's slippage tolerance.
The bot's front-run pushes the pool's price up, the victim's swap fills at their maximum tolerated price, and the bot sells into the further-moved price. The victim loses approximately their tolerance setting without any failure being visible. Tight tolerances and private transaction routes are the defences.
