What Moved

A soft day: total market capitalisation ended at $2.66T, down 1.1% from a day earlier.

BTC ended the day at $77,113 (-1.2%), moving with the market rather than against it; its share of total capitalisation is 58.3%. Ethereum lost 0.5% to $2,257.

Breadth was weak: 1867 assets fell against 544 that rose, and only 26.0% of the hundred largest managed a gain.

Rain (RAIN) was the day's strongest mover at +15.1%, ahead of 币安人生 (+2.4%). At the other end, Bitway (BTW) fell 10.0%, with NEAR (-8.4%) close behind. Every tracked sector closed lower, Zero Knowledge most of all at -5.3%.

Volume and Leverage

Turnover jumped. We measured $48.7B of trading across the venues we stream, +71.4% against the previous day — a selloff with volume behind it, which tends to clear positions rather than start trends. Spot on centralised exchanges accounted for $47.6B, on-chain swaps $1.79B and derivatives $99.8B.

Liquidations were contained at $152M, most of it longs ($101M against $50.8M of shorts). Open interest across the venues we track is $64.9B.

Sentiment

Sentiment swung. The Coinmico Fear & Greed index reads 56 (greed), up 12 points from 44 a day earlier and against 58 a week ago.

That leaves positioning and price pointing in different directions: traders are still leaning optimistic while the tape weakens. Days like this resolve either by sentiment catching down or by dip-buying proving right; the volume figure above is the better tell.

Sectors

Rotation was visible at the sector level. Derivatives & Perpetuals finished -0.7% while Zero Knowledge closed -5.3%, a spread of 4.6 points across the 10 sectors we track; all 10 of them fell, with the middle of the pack (Storage & Compute) at -1.9%. Derivatives & Perpetuals holding up while the market fell is the kind of relative strength worth noting if the selling continues.

What to Watch

A soft day rather than a broken one. Alts fell less than bitcoin, a pattern that tends to be short-lived: either bitcoin stabilises and the field catches up, or it does not and the field follows it down.

The 12-point swing in the Fear & Greed index is the largest single-day move in sentiment this week and worth more attention than the level itself: sentiment moving faster than price tends to mean-revert.

1867 of 2411 assets with a measurable move closed lower. Selling that wide is a de-risking of the whole asset class, not a rotation out of specific names, and it typically needs a bitcoin bounce to stop.

All figures are measured on Coinmico's own index across 56 exchanges and 37 decentralised venues at 00:42 UTC. Tomorrow's recap will show whether today's reading held.
